A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR THE CHILDREN

Rogelio G. Gatchalian Elementary School actively participated in the Department of Education’s Project entitled DepEd’s 236,000 Trees – A Christmas Gift for the Children.

This environmental activity aims to promote preservation of the earth and instill love and sense of responsibility for natural resources among Filipino children.

The project is done simultaneously planting 236,000 trees in different parts of the country with the participation of DepEd’s 47,678 public schools this Dec. 6, 2023.  

The school head, Ms. Marilyn F. Tamundong with the SLG Coordinator, Mr. Rey Carlo B. Galicia coordinated with the barangay  officials headed by Chairman Alexander C. Alvarez for the space for planting.

Vitalez Plaza is the spot where fruit bearing trees were planted with love for the kids of tomorrow. Ten teachers and 20 learners powered the tree planting activity in the early morning right after the short opening program held in the school.

The short opening program started with the national anthem followed by a prayer. The school head rendered a brief description of the said project. Teachers, learners and stakeholders together with the non-teaching personnel attended the said program.

 

Participants paraded in the community to start the significant Tree Planting. Community was made aware of the DepEd’s project.

RGES athletes score in Cluster, City Meet

Rogelio G. Gatchalian Elementary School athletes together with their coaches combined their skills as they competed in the 2024 Cluster Meet held at Manila Memorial Park, Paranaque City on February 5, 2024 with the support of the school head, Ma’am Marilyn F. Tamundong.

 They bagged 9 medals: 3 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze.

On March 9, 2024, Caiser W. Fantilaga represented Cluster 1 in the City Meet held at the Philippine Sports Complex, Pasig City.

He won a gold medal for 400 Meter Run and both silver medals for 1500 Meter Run and the 4 x 400 Meter Relay.

This shows that RGES learners do not only excel in academics but also in extra-curricular activities, especially in sports. Coaches are Napoleon Laureta and Aproniano Dalit.
